Wordle #200

Wordle number 200! Here’s my effort this week.

1. Tangible   2. Alien   3. Duck   4. Enhance   5. Revert   6. Garnet
7. Possessive   8. Dissolution   9. Objurgate    10. Quickening   11. Possibility
12. Decathect (v)) to withdraw one’s feelings of attachment from (a person, idea, or object), as in anticipation of a future loss)

She had no choice but to decathect and called the board together to announce their dissolution with immediate effect.
The quickening shock in the room was tangible, and they looked at her as if some alien force had taken over her senses.
It explained why she had been so possessive lately with the accounts and none could duck blame as she objurgated them all for their greed to enhance their lifestyles at her expense. Times were hard and the business was going down the toilet with no possibility of a U turn, she said.
Ignoring the titters, she calmly announced she had decided to sell.
Each manager would be given severance pay of two full months salary, and she suggested they attempt to revert to earning a living rather than bleeding their employer dry. How she dealt with other members of staff was her business and out of their hands she said.

As the room emptied, she looked lovingly at the ruby and diamond ring which had been the last thing her late husband had given her. A tear escaped her eye as the stones had been replaced by a single garnet to pay off the company debts and cover such severance.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

A sad situation but I’m sure closer to the truth than I realise.

    • The husband of a friend of mine turned up for work to find everything locked up and the owner on the steps waiting for her staff with envelopes containing cash. It was only a small business (9 employees plus management) but no-one had any idea of her intentions. There wasn’t a manager in sight, but apparently quite a few tears.
