These are our words for the challenge this week
His writing had always been his safety valve, yet nothing dulls the creative mind more than betrayal.
He was surprised that he could bear it knowing that his ‘friend’ had come to prosper all those years ago at his expense.
Stealing his ideas and dreams, he had laid a trap and been left in no doubt. He let him dig a big enough hole to fall into with his deceit and lies.
He had to will himself to breathe normally, as he executed the final act to his plan.
‘The idiot told me no-one ever listens,’ he mused, as he covered the body with earth and lime. ‘Well I did and learned a lot about your dealings, dear ‘friend’.’
Nothing was sacred anymore, least of all friendship.
Suddenly, he felt his tired spirit rally with the idea for a best seller.
