The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 2/18

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “your favourite word.” What’s your favourite word? Write about it, base your post on it, or just write about the concept of having one. Enjoy!

Thanks Linda.

Oh, chocolate, cheesecake, ice-cream, sweets, pastries, cream cakes and pies immediately come forth (fifth and sixth 🙂 ), mainly because I’ve got practically nothing but food on my mind again as I’m still doing battle with the bulges.
DIET is a four letter word, as is cake and food, so I’m not going to write any more about those else I’ll be diving for the biscuit tin, which at the moment has a variety of chocolate ones in it as they were on special offer!

So, what is my favourite non-food word?
I’m going with Mellow.
It has such a soft, relaxing and charming ring about it, just saying it makes me feel good. Donovan sang about it of course in the 1960s, pairing it up with a non-favourite colour of mine, yellow.
Hubby also likes the word mellow, saying it’s how he feels after a hot relaxing bath, a pleasant meal, a good night’s sleep (sadly few and far between at the moment), or just listening to some beautiful music.
Mellow……… mel……. low……. repeating it in my head is like self-hypnosis, that ‘low’ making me want to nod off!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Mellow…it’s how I hope the weekend goes. No surprises, just hanging out and relaxing.
Sending positive vibes to you on the quest to stay away from certain foods. Having a sweet tooth myself, those foods are difficult to stay away from.
