New Challenge! FOWC

Thank you Fandango, you can count me in!

Today’s word is INERTIA

It had been a long day and she was tired.
Now that she was home, she took herself to bed and soon was asleep.
Next day, the family got on with their normal routine, each showing respect for the elderly lady catching up on some shut-eye. She’d been restless lately, so it was good to see her in such a complete state of inertia.
It wasn’t until after midday that someone thought to check on her, and found their beloved pet of 16 stiff as a board in her basket.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Aw 😦 But the best way to go is peacefully like that in your sleep.

It’s so hard when a pet — a loyal, loved, and loving member of the family — dies.

Years ago our family had a very old tom cat that had gone missing. We thought he’d gone off to die. He showed up after a year-long absence and a day or two later passed away. We felt he’d come back for his last farewell.
