Flaming June

Obviously somewhere else, not here in the UK, though the day has progressed to sunnier climes and we do have our washing out.
This morning it was like a grey November day and cold to boot.

We walked up to the High Street this morning and it was like walking in a ghost town.
The streets were practically empty, save for the piles of dog mess owners hadn’t bothered to clear up.
The amusement halls were playing their music, calling their bingo numbers and flashing the lights for the floor aerobic mats, but no-one was in the arcades playing the slot machines.
Coffee shops had tables outside, but no takers and the roads were more or less deserted.
We definitely saw more geese and ducks than people this morning, and that does not include another five new goslings or brood of about a dozen ducklings bombing all over the place giving Momma duck a major headache trying to keep them all in a row!

Still, it is only the 1st, so the month has another 29 days to redeem itself.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Our warm weather has turned to cool. June is usually warm. Weather everywhere is strange.
