The Real Neat Blog Award

My thanks go to The Girl With Iron Wings who kindly nominated me for this award.
However, I accepted this particular one in September 2016 (that’s my logo above),  and whilst it was nice to be put forward again, I’m not very good with nominating other people so don’t go in for awards now.
I have to admit BriN’s questions were interesting though, so I thought I’d answer them anyway!

What hobby and career would you get into, if time and money weren’t the issue?
I still love working with numbers, so getting my old job back as an analyst would suit me pretty well. As for a hobby, I wish I could draw or paint.

What was your idea of/about blogging before you started? Has it changed? How?
Hubby started me on the Blogging Path way back in 2013. I honestly didn’t think anyone would be interested in my writings, opinions or poetry, but it appears I was wrong (thank you everyone for taking the time to read my musings!)

What state or country would you never want to visit? Why?
I’m not very well travelled at all, so any new country would be an adventure.
The world is a beautiful, and sadly dangerous, place, so I would weigh my options up very carefully.

What takes up too much of your time?
Worry. I worry about health issues, the dog, family and keeping to budgets.

What TV show or movie do you mostly skip or refuse to watch?
Ah, we solved this issue over ten years ago and don’t have a TV. Even when we did, we avoided Soaps, Reality TV, Game Shows and actually most of what was being aired.
One film I cannot watch is Apocalypse Now, purely for the scene where they hack the yak to death with machetes as it was real, not special effects. Any film where animals are harmed is off my watch list.

So there you have it.
Good luck and congratulations to BriN’s other nominees.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Congratulations! I had no idea they really harmed a yak in Apocalypse Now! I’ve never seen it, but now will make a point of never watching; how barbaric.

    • Hi Emily, and thank you.
Yes, the yak scene has always been one of controversy. I find some cultures totally off the wall for me.

      • Emily says:

It just seems so pointless when it’s just for the sake of a film 😢

      • The film was very graphic and a classic war film, but to understand the back story you had to know the culture. Sometimes the film producers go too far, and for me this was such a case. There are several popular films where animals have died on set for real, including Ben Hur, The Hobbit and Rambo.

  2. Perhaps you should consider taking up drawing or painting – even if you aren’t good at it, it seems like it would be an enjoyable task to take on.
