100 Word Wednesday #72 23rd May

Thanks to Bikurgurl for another 100 word Wednesday challenge.
You can check it out here.

Reading Bikurgurl’s brief on where this photo was taken, makes me think of a room of strangers who share one major thing in common, Loss.
The fact that it is Memorial Day on May 28th makes it somehow disrespectful of me to put a story to the image.
The Fallen gave the ultimate, and as this is the WWII Memorial in Hawaii of the Pearl Harbour bombing, it demands respect and honour, not a fictional penning from someone like me.
Here, our Remembrance Day is November 11th, when we stand for two minutes in silence. My tribute is therefore mine.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Well as always I don’t read the brief as it often colours what I might write, but Di I see your point of view on this one.

    • I usually try to go with the first thoughts when I see an image, but I read Bikurgurl’s brief of where the picture was taken and although I started off it just didn’t sit right, so I did what I did. Thanks.
