Sunday Whirl 20th May

The bar was packed and there was a long wait to be served.
It had been a good bash, and already some of the unsavoury members of the family were blind drunk on the free booze. Even the old ‘queen‘ who’d been asked to wear a suit rather than his usual drag clothes was particularly animated when he’d had a few.
Everything was in full swing and the bridesmaids had won everyone’s hearts with their little posies and pigtails.
It didn’t exactly raise the loudest laugh when someone thought to check on the pageboys, and discovered they were playing Eagles by jumping off the balcony.
Luckily they landed in the fish pond below and apart from soggy clothes, were having more fun than the adults.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

Well played, but I am deducting half a point for the past tense of ‘win’! 🙂

    Yikes – the pageboys!
This reminds me of my youngest son, who when around 6 or 7, really really had a desire to fly. So strong was his desire, we nailed shut the upstairs windows, just to be on the safe side.
