‘You’re getting a rather nice tan there. Better be careful though, can’t have you fading away in this heat’.
‘I know. It’s so peaceful here, you can easily lose track of time. I nodded off once and found myself up to my knees when the tide came in. That was pretty scary.’
‘Yeah. I know what you mean. I was almost stolen once.’
‘Really? Who would want to steal you? No offence by the way.’
‘None taken. Some stupid holidaymaker wanted the beach all to themselves and decided to move the sign when no-one was looking.’
‘That was before my time, but I heard about it. Idiot, they had to get the Lifeguard out didn’t they as he got caught in the current.  That’s how I got this job.’
‘Yeah. Hey up! Looks like the powers that be are bringing another sign to this stretch. I wonder if it’s anything to do with that sighting of a shark the other week. You can always tell the newbies with their bright flags and shiny poles. Makes us pale into insignificance.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
