3. Elision (n)) 4. Stepdaughter
He had thought it a creative, if impulsive move to buy the hipster jeans from a charity shop and hitchhike to get a stealth for the role he was auditioning for.
He’d read the script and perfected the look of an impoverished nameless extra ready to deliver a murmurous line with elision. By actually decrypting the text, he knew he would either be devoured by zombies or zapped by the aliens in mid sentence, but he didn’t care as it was work, and gone were the days when he was a highly sought after (and paid) actor.
The whole charade of selection was a total letdown when his stepdaughter got the part.
He was grateful she didn’t recognise him, but then she was too busy on the casting couch.
