No cooker today

Don’t worry, it’s still working! I just don’t use it every day.
Today was microwave day, and we had jacket potatoes, tuna (no tuna rinse this week) and mixed veg. We like this mix as it adds colour and variety. Besides, sprouts and carrots didn’t have the same appeal.
Technically speaking, this would be classed as a SW ‘free dinner’, apart from the nob of butter added to the spud (you can just see it melting in the right picture).

It’s been another beautiful day today, though rain was forecast for this afternoon so we got the washing out early (8am) and have walked the dog twice. So far, we’ve had ‘spotting’ but it hasn’t come to anything. Yesterday we had hail!

There’s a new dog on the block, a GSD puppy, and at 13 weeks, she is all fluff at the moment. Maggie got put indoors so that I could have a fuss. Of course I got the cold shoulder when I came back inside, but I think I’ve been forgiven.

The summer cold is finally easing off…………. in Hubby’s direction, so I’m not very popular.
The sore throat has definitely eased and I’m not so bunged up.
He was brewing up yesterday so slept in the spare room last night. We’ve stocked up with cold remedies anyway just in case.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Dogs are great in that they quickly forgive us for our indiscretions (even if those looks when you’ve been giving attention to another dog sometimes seem to suggest that forgiveness will never come).
