A sneeze does not necessarily mean hay fever.

With the recent gloriously hot days of late and temperatures reaching up to 24ºC, I am lucky not to suffer from hay fever as people cut their lawns or tend their flower beds.
Since visiting Doctor Happy and more or less getting a clean bill of health, I have actually been feeling a bit under the weather!

I had a sore throat when I woke up on Friday, and Hubby said it was because I’d been snoring. That figures actually, so I wasn’t too bothered. However, by the end of the day I had a tickly cough with it, so it was out with the Venos, the only cough remedy that works for me which I buy when I see it as it’s hard to come by.
Throw in the hot flushes in the early hours, and you get an idea how things are just now.

The cough and sore throat have sort of been responding, but this morning I woke up at 5.19 (we have a new digital clock in the bedroom) feeling ‘proper poorly’ as we used to say.
My nose was stuffy, my throat and head hurt, and my mouth was permanently salivating as it was the only way I could breathe.
In short, I felt like 5 h 1 t.
Hubby bless him got up and made me a hot lemon drink which contained paracetamol and told me to snuggle under the covers and go back to sleep. I tried, and managed some shut-eye for about forty minutes, then Maggie was awake and it was time to get up.

I won’t be doing much today apart from trying to keep in the same temperature and I’ve just had my second paracetamol drink. The throat lozenges are also out of the OTC box, and I have two full bottles of Venos in reserve should I need them.
Honestly, it’s almost summer, and I’ve gone down with a COLD!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Love the cartoon!

    • It’s very me………. and Hubby freezes on a chilly night when I have to throw the covers off. We didn’t have windows open on the boat at night, but as our bedroom is at the back of the house, we may well do so now!

Its often the way of it Di, our bodies respond in odd ways to changes in weather. As you say, stay warm and soak up hubby’s attention.
