Our task this week is to focus on Super Powers.

He didn’t know how she did it.
There was no fancy suit hiding in the back of the wardrobe, no specialised kit in the cupboard, no special books, tools or potions. Just her.
Except there was more to her than ‘Just’. She was everything.

That smile, that warmth, she had people eating out of her hand with the minimum of effort. They would tell her their troubles as if they’d known her for years instead of minutes, and when she had encouraged them to share their burden, they left with a smile and a lighter heart.
How did she do that?
She had compassion, understanding and the ability to listen, not needing to say a single word or offer platitudes.
She was the same with animals. Even the most nervous would come to her, albeit tentatively at first, but come to her they would. One sniff and the tension just left their bodies, they could sense she was a friend and not a threat.

She was all his, all he wanted, and all she wanted to be.
He was happy to share, happy to watch her interact, happy to have her in his life.
She was his life.
At the touch of her hand, a warmth would steal through his body, seeking out whatever ailed him, absorbing it into herself, bringing him instant relief and peace.
He said she had the power of Magic.
She laughed, and said it was the Power of Love.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
