The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS April 21/18

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “spoke.” Use it somewhere, in some form, in your post. Bonus points if you don’t use it in the first sentence. Enjoy!

I sometimes wonder if I’m cheating at this as a lot of my entries are scheduled for Saturday rather than actually written on the day.
Bonus points for me as I didn’t use the prompt word in my first (or second) sentence.

You get spokes on a bicycle wheel too don’t you, or someone has to put their spoke in on a conversation or argument. Spokes are better than eggs I suppose, not so wasteful.
Then there is the old saying of ‘spoke too soon’, which I probably did yesterday about the window and old cooker collection. Still, it happens doesn’t it.

Speaking of being spoken to, too soon or otherwise, on our wedding day, the Registrar spoke to Hubby who looked a bit blank (probably shell-shocked I was still there or thinking about those handcuffs in his pocket in case I changed my mind) and waited expectantly for his response.  This was
‘You said something to me just now. Could you repeat it please?’
It was the ‘Do you ……… ‘ bit.
We often joke about it saying it was a case of I do, He does, Where do we sign.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I always write my SoCS post on Friday night. Otherwise, it doesn’t get done. I think Linda is a very forgiving person. 🙂
