Oops two: clerical error

The window men came this afternoon and as one took the old pane out, the other rummaged around in the back of the van and came up empty.
Judging by the speed of things, to replace a blown pane takes about ten minutes.
We asked if we could keep the old one as Hubby is going to use it as a cloche for cucumbers or strawberries.

Fast forward half an hour and we now have a shiny new frame in the Man Closet with the old one back in situ as said shiny new frame is the wrong size. The guys said they would only skip it, so we were welcome to it for our vegetables or fruit patch.
Sure it would fit the hole OK, but it’s too shallow, and rather than double up on tape and possibly warp the frame trim, we said to put the old one back. Luckily, no money has changed hands yet.

The replacement will be ordered on Monday and hopefully fitted next Friday now.
Bummer.

And the old cooker still hasn’t been collected.
Oh well, it’s been half a good day.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

A case of efficiency with a ‘d’? Are there two window men one to look in and the other one out?

    • I like that idea!! Just one of those things I guess, but annoying all the same. Especially as this company actually replaced the pane in the other side of this particular window for the previous owners, so you would think they might have checked from the address and that order. Never mind. We wait (again)
