In the Can

Or perhaps not.

Baking tins….. I had such a shock yesterday, I came over all peculiar.
I forgot that I had already bought two flat baking trays when we moved in for the cooker that was already here (and I only used twice). I also have two rather nice sized ceramic dishes which will be ideal for pastas, lasagnes, roasting potatoes, McCheeses or cottage pies.
All I really need is a bun tin for mince pies or small fairy cakes, and two 7″ sponge tins for, well, sponges.
Google image: I’ll post one of my own when I’ve cooked it.

The ones I had before were non stick and had removable bases, so I’d line the bottom with a circle of greaseproof paper and when the cake was cooked, turn it out without it sticking to the sides.

£8.60 each.
I’ll repeat that slowly…….. e i g h t  p o u n d s  and  s i x t y  p e n c e  each.
They are still on the shelf in the shop.
The bun tin was £9.
So is that.

And as for a cake storage tin at £15, well forget it.

Plan B (another one):
We’re off to the market in Boston today for a variety of things, and I know several places where I can get the baking tins I’m after at a sensible price. Also for a couple of pounds I should be able to get a cake storage tin/container.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I LOVE cake pans & have collected them for years, so now, I have a cupboard devoted to them. My favorites are make by Nordic Ware and I have several ‘cupcake’ and bundt pans. The ones you are planning for are much more practical.
