I once had a visit from a customer to see who the face was behind the voice. I was in Credit Control at the time, responsible for chasing debts and setting up payment terms on accounts. I never had a problem with this particular account, but it pleased me no end that he should make the effort to meet me personally.
Generally speaking though, that voice on the end of the phone is faceless.
Just a voice, unless of course it’s a family member and then you might just be able to recall what they look like.
Technology has gone a step further though, and there are voices we hear over the wire that are indeed literally faceless. They are not recordings or even real people, yet they read dialogue and answer questions.
Now that’s scary.
