The Daily Post Prompt 15th March 2018: Provoke.

I don’t usually do politics, but today’s word prompt is very apt

especially as our wonderful PM

is doing an excellent job in provoking President Putin!

Personally, I hate conflict and ill feeling, and in certain quarters I am finding it best to keep quiet, butt out, and leave things alone.
Gone are the days when I would rise to the bait of an argument as I grew tired of being the whipping boy to make someone else look good. My silence and lack of retaliation thus only made them look silly, so they soon stopped and I kicked myself for not doing it sooner.
Sometimes though actions are necessary to provoke a response, but in these uncertain time, I wonder if our Leaders actually have any concept of the dynamite they are likley to ignite with their current stands and demands.
It will all end in tears and she will be made to look petty and foolish (imho).
But where will that leave us? Yeah, right in the

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. I’m not from the UK but your PM has certainly shown that she has more balls than our US president ( likely illegitimate having been ushered into office by the hacking of the Kremlin) and our Congress altogether. Hats off to her !

    • Unfortunately her stance on Brexit is much to be desired, but I can see no good coming of threatening Russia. It looks like France is going to follow suit. It is worrying times everywhere.

      • Well, I disagree, Russia is completelly out of control. Our president is under investigation for collusion concerning our Presidential election. so far 6 people have been indicted that were in the pres. cabinet. Now the Russians have used chemical weapons right on your streets injuring not just their targets but 200 other bystanders (British citizens), until now our pres. has refused to sanction them although required to by our congress. Finally we are doing that. regarding the actions of Putin. How far can we let them go.. I say good for France if they stand up to this rogue nation.
