At first glance, the sky looked dark and threatening, but whether it was a trick of the light or angle of the camera, Tom wasn’t sure, he just saw more.
He studied his entry, searching for a title that would do it justice and make it stand out to the judges. He didn’t want to cheat and enhance his picture with the latest technology, but there was something about the image that he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
It wasn’t the sun’s rays peeking through the clouds, casting a haziness over the lakeside mountains.
It wasn’t the silhouettes of the trees along the shoreline, nor the peaceful serenity of the water, and it didn’t matter that there was no-one in the frame.
And then he saw it.
Just a hint of blue sky………. blink and it disappeared. He thought it was just his imagination, but when he looked again, it was there, albeit fleetingly.
He called his picture The Blue in Monochrome.
