Daily Prompt: Imagination

Our Daily Prompt today is Imagination.

There are times when my imagination gets the better of me.
I can see shapes and figures in clouds not to mention imagined conversations with pets and animals.
I wake in the mornings with ideas for blog posts or a particular thought that would do well in a poem if I could only find the rest to go with it.
I see in my mind’s eye beautiful handmade cards, though when I try to bring the pieces together, it rarely works out the way I’d imagined yet has a charm in another way.

But my imagination isn’t a patch on a child’s.
For them, fantasies are real, magic exists, and every day is an adventure.
Their world isn’t tainted by deceit, politics or personal gain.
I would love to see the world through the eyes of a child, knowing what I do now.
But then I still wouldn’t see it as they do anyway, would I.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
