It’s snowing.
No it isn’t.
It’s started again.
Now it’s stopped.
That’s hail.
That’s stopped too.
It’s windy.
Real feel temperature is minus 10.
Is that the sun?
It’s still windy.
Now it’s snowing again.
And it’s windy.
This has been our day, snowing off and on from the moment we got up.
But the wind is constant.
And it’s cold.
Very cold.
We’ve given Maggie two mini walks today, and despite heavy coats, hats and gloves, both times we came home frozen to the core. We remembered to put her little jacket on and when she got back, she curled up with her babies in front of the radiator as we supped tea.
Temperatures are due to hit a real feel of minus 11 tonight.
The hot water bottle is in and extra blankets are already on the bed.
Our bungalow is well insulated and double glazed.
We are glad we invested in a new boiler and should the temperature in the house fall below 15º during the night, the heating kicks in.
We took these pictures through the lounge window about 5pm this evening.
Photos: opposite, slightly left, and our front lawn
It’s bitterly cold outside, and we shall not be going anywhere other than the front lawn for Maggie to do her business before bedtime.
But even then we shall be wrapping up, her too.
It has been like here all weekend
Keep warm and safe Betty Louise.
My darling Hurley Dog ended up at the vet last week. He has caught a very bad cold and the vet has said his little feet and damaged from the cold. We have purchased little doggy shoes for him (which he does not love or like or want or in his opinion need) and there are no more walks for him until it warms up a bit. The things we do for our babies.
We bought baby socks for Maggie’s foot last year and taped it with micropore. She was not impressed, but it did keep her foot clean on our walks. At 5 pairs for a pound, that was ten walks.
Hahhaha yes we looked at baby booties but Hurley did not appreciate them AT ALL! Actually he hasn’t like the alternative much either.
I don’t think dogs like things on their feet as a rule.
