Wordle challenge: Moment of Tangency:

A very interesting topic this, one that actually hits home!

The question is, can I work my post around it using the following so excuse me if I take a few liberties with the word prompts!

1. Close
2. Sultry
3. Fragile
4. Whisper
5. Pupils
6. Moment of Tangency
7. Butterflies
8. Mocha
9. Sweat
10. Veranda
11. Eyelashes
12. Sway

Hubby and I met through an ad in the paper. Honest.
It was a close call whether I’d answer and I still don’t really know what swayed me to put my letter in the post.
We arranged to meet in a local pub. I had butterflies, smoking two cigarettes in quick succession as I sat on the veranda outside (it was the wall actually, but I’m Wordling!).
I broke into a cold sweat as I plucked up the courage to walk through the door, just as he came out! There was no going back after that.
Both of us were fragile from previous relationships, so none of the sultry looks, fluttering eyelashes, dilated pupils or whispered sweet nothings transpired that first night. We talked a lot, or at least I did, and naturally I invited him back for a mocha coffee (instant).

You can’t get more of a Moment of Tangency than that now can you? I mean, the scenarios of shall I, shan’t I answer, will he turn up or won’t he, will we get on or not, all down to choices made at the time and how differently it could all have turned out had we trod a different path.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Thanks for sharing your story, I really love hearing how couples met. I am not sure if you remember the old chat program ICU well my now hubbie was up late one night and decided to just randomnly message someone whose handle appealed to him. I answered “Hello Love” and that was really that, he lived in Sweden and I in the USA we were both 18 at the time. 3 days after chatting he took all the money he’d saved for his driver’s license to visit me. What are the odds? He just picked a name, no profile or anything

Great response Di, there was a moment of bravery that led to a life of happiness.
