Sunday Writing Prompt #241 “Euphoria”

I sincerely hope we have all experienced this at least once in our lives.

I remember the day very well: May 11th 1991.
Hubby and I had got married the day before, and caught the overnight ferry to Holland.
Our wedding night was a riot (bunk beds in an inside cabin with a suction flush loo I was completely fascinated by), but that wasn’t it.

Have you ever felt so totally amazing, special, wonderful, loved, fascinated, happy, glad to be alive, all at once?
That was just some of the emotions I felt when we came out of the railway station and the barrel organ started to play.
The timing could not have been more perfect. My first step in Amsterdam Central and I felt like a queen.
It was not arranged, organised, practiced, or prepared in advance. It just happened.
A perfectly natural start to the day for the barrel organ owner, but it lifted my already happy spirits up by about thirty feet as I felt it was being played just for me.
Oh Happy Day.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
