Tuesday Photo Challenge – Delicious

If you’re on a diet read no further!

I like to cook, and the Bank where I worked had a Dress Down Day on the last Friday of the month.
Participants paid £1 to dress casually, and the company matched whatever was raised and sent a cheque to the charity pulled out of the hat containing those put forward by staff.
Mine was Hearing Dogs for the Deaf and when it was selected, I asked if I could bake to raise a bit more money.

I made gingerbread, carrot cake, bread pudding, a victoria sponge sandwich, coconut cake, chocolate cake, rock buns and flapjacks, and when I arrived in the foyer Friday morning, the messengers had set up a table for me with a donation box on it.
Nothing was priced and people put in what they wanted.

My cakes sold out way before coffee breaks and raised around £85. With the dress down contributions as well, my charity received a cheque for £375, so I was over the moon with that and judging by the letter of thanks the Bank received from them, so were they.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
