Tit detached

When we were in our bungalow in Poole, we put up three bird boxes and called them Tit Terrace. You can read a little bit about them here

One of my other £10 dash gifts this year was a bird house. Hubby was really chuffed with it because it came with a set of 4 small paint pots for self decoration.

Now, I’m not very artistic.
At school, my paper mache Princess ended up being a Wicked Witch as it was so grotesque, and any paintings I’ve attempted have been hardly recognisable as the subject.
Even though I make cards, they usually come in kits or I can buy stickers and pretty papers to put something together.
So I was somewhat surprised that Hubby was hoping I would draw (??!!) something on said bird house and paint it accordingly.

As it happened, he had recently run a ‘How to draw a……’ series on Youtube, one of which was a flower, so I had a go.
In the meantime, he traced a picture of a clump of flowers and put that on the roof for me to paint.
It’s all been varnished now, and I must admit, I am quite pleased with the result, even though I found it hard to hold the brush and keep my hand steady at times.

Not that I’m intending to draw my card designs freehand in future, but I may do a couple as an experiment………….. flowers of course.

As to whether we’ll get any takers for this des-res detached remains to be seen.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
