A doppelgänger is a look-alike or double of a living person (wiki)
I’ve done a post on this before (click here) and have noted the variant spelling.
There’s also another post on the subject, but that is a matter of opinion, and one I still find amusing.
Anyway, on to today’s subject.
If there are doppelgangers for people, there must be some for animals.
We are led to believe that no two zebras or giraffes have identical markings, and Maggie’s nine siblings were all black and white like her, but none were the same, so walking her this afternoon whilst dinner was burning cooking in the iffy oven, I met up with ‘Ray’ (link)
Except this wasn’t Ray, but a five year old rotti X GSD called Zak.
Zak wasn’t from a shelter like Ray, but had been with his owner since he was an eight week old pup. He was described as loving, loyal, playful and a real softie, though the owner admitted that some people would still shy away from ‘big dogs’ believing them to be unpredictable or vicious.
As Maggie was being more than a little distracted, disobedient, selectively deaf, and generally unresponsive to command, she was on a lead this time so I didn’t go over for a fuss.
Also on this walk I saw two kids riding their new bikes in the road. It’s a cul de sac so traffic is minimal, and they were having a lovely time.
Bikes are still popular for Christmas gifts, and it made me remember the year I got mine.
