December 21, 2017 prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) include white flowers in your story. This is a repeat prompt, but one that has an ability to be emotive. Humor, drama, irony — go wherever the white flowers lead.
In her dreams she saw masses of white flowers in an ocean of green.
The view was unfamiliar, with islands of trees in the waters, but no bridges, roads or pathways to reach them.
She always felt a sense of loss when she awoke.
This time something was waiting for her in the sea of white flowers.
It stood and ambled towards her.
‘Jess.’ she whispered.
The dog came to her side and nuzzled her hand.
‘I knew you’d come,’ he said.
She was so happy to see her childhood pet, she didn’t think to question he could talk.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Lovely tale Di.
Thanks Michael
Oh, I love this! Beautiful. ❤
Thanks you Colleen. I’m a believer in Rainbow Bridge.
There is a delightful narrative that before we reincarnate, we choose the animals that will become part of our lives. I’ve always loved this possibility. I know everyone of my pets taught me something about myself that I’m not sure I would have learned without their help. Lovely story, and you touched my heart. In the last few months, we lost both of our Pomeranians who were sisters from the same litter. I miss them terribly. ❤
Oh Colleen, I am so sorry for your loss. Our pets are such an important part of our lives and leave a big hole when they pass away. When my time comes, I’m going to Rainbow Bridge with pockets full of dog biscuits to meet up with all my ‘babies’.
Awww, that is a wonderful thought. ❤
🙂
Just seen you’ve hit the follow button. Welcome! I look forward to corresponding via the comments. Enjoy !!
Thank you. I swear I followed you before, but with WordPress you never know. ❤
I had a few glitches and some of my readers were dropped at one stage (including Hubby!!)
I’ve had a lot of that myself. Crazy stuff!
Oh wow! What a sweet tale of love to lighten up Christmas. Merry Christmas 🙂
Thank you. Have a wonderful Christmas.
A beautiful tale Di. I hope to meet up with some of my old pals and in a field of white flowers would be lovely.
It’s a lovely thought, and I firmly believe that we will be reunited with our loved ones.
Hope you have a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2018.
And I hope you had a lovely Christmas. Enjoy the last week of the year.
Thank you
Your story gave me goosebumps. (That’s a good thing!)
Glad it’s friendly goosebumps then Michael! Merry Christmas and thanks for commenting! 🙂
Very nice. And of course our pets can talk. We can only hear them though in our dreams.
Maggie talks to us, but unfortunately we don’t have a translation book!
Such a beautiful story and I love the greeting!
I believe in Rainbow Bridge. 🙂
