The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Dec. 2/17

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “cramp.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Oh, cramp!
One of the joys (not) of being female with the dreaded monthlies!
Teachers were unsympathetic and told us to exercise more. Sometimes all I wanted to do was curl up in a warm bed with a hot water bottle! So glad all that’s behind me now.

Of course there are different kinds of cramp…….like muscles going into spasm.
This can happen at the most inopportune of moments (you can use your own imagination here, and as long as it isn’t actually you rolling about in agony, it’s hilarious to the onlooker).
However, when you or your partner are woken up by it and can’t get back to sleep, we tend to be more sympathetic.
Then there is the cramping of one’s style, getting in the way or making the wrong comment at the wrong time.

Cramp can happen to anyone at any time and for any reason.
It’s painful, awkward, annoying, can be funny (depends who you’re with) and a damn nuisance.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
