Dylan’s turn this week:
Below them, the dark streets beckoned with crimson light.
These pavements echoed with a million footsteps, each treading the path to relief, consolation and comfort.
The occupants found the choice of lighting embarrassing for their trade. Many had started petitions to get the lamps changed to a more subtle hue, but the authorities had refused.
They either had a sense of humour or didn’t see the irony in naming Haw Street after the trees felled to make room for it.
Saying that though, business was good.
However, most was done by day, where expert fingers relieved stress, muscle fatigue and joint misalignment with chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations, herbal remedies, or just a sympathetic ear as patients lay back on a comfy couch.
