I had a bit of a problem with my laptop logging off last night.
Suddenly it started to update stuff, even though that feature is turned off.
This morning when I tried to log in, I couldn’t as it wouldn’t accept my password.
Hubby had a go and it didn’t work for him either, so I automatically thought I’d done something wrong and imported some gremlins which had taken up residence in my hard drive.
Hubby said it was nothing to do with me, and has had to reset my computer.
It’s taken all day as although it cancelled out the error in misreading my password, it removed a lot of the software we use, like our wireless printer download (ggrrrr!!), the camera software, our preferred anti-virus programme, my games (!!), and Open Office which we use instead of Mr Gates
rip off software.
So in between walking the dog, getting our meals, doing the laundry, and Hubby sorting out my computer, I’ve been writing my Christmas cards.
I made quite a few a little while ago, so armed with my newsletters and this year’s poem insert for family, I set to work with sticky tape, a scalpel blade and a pen.
My poem was too long/fat to fit some of my cards so I’ve folded it up and put it in anyway.
I have 29 to post so it’s going to cost me a bit, but I don’t mind. It’s only once a year afterall and my way of keeping in touch with everyone. We have a few more distant friends now having left the area, so they are all included.
As it turned out I was four short, so made those and now I’m all set. I still have the ready-mades (bought for the box for my niece’s wedding card) for emergencies, but I’ve gone through my address book and I’ve got everyone in it.
