Ads the way to do it

Or not.
The most annoying thing about TV is the adverts.
Programmes seem to be split into fifteen minute segments and just as you’re getting back into the swing of the storyline, bingo, another ad break.
It’s the same ads too. How I miss the Smash Men though.

Recently I have been having problems with my emails and the time it takes for clicks to respond or mail to load, messages to send etc etc.
Videos are playing in the background that I don’t want, and messages keep popping up all over the place which is distracting as well as annoying and if I’m not careful, I end up clicking on something else entirely as my screen has ‘dipped’ and the click missed its target.
Trying to sign out is a tedious waiting game as the ad has to run its full course before I get the drop down menu!
When Hubby rebuilt my laptop a little while ago,  it appears he forgot to reinstall the Ad Blocker.
The speed has increased dramatically now that they aren’t draining the signal, but I am fascinated by just how many ads are being blocked in the duration of writing one email!
I’m not a typist so it takes me a while but I had over 24 ads blocked today according to the little number over the gizmo, which reset to begin again when I hit send.

Big Brother is watching you and all that.
Invasion of privacy and personal space more like.
Now they’ve been kicked into touch…….
That’s the way to do it!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. I still remember the first time I saw an infomercial. I was in LA and I turned on the TV in the dingy little hotel I was staying at. I thought okay ad break. Two hours later it was still on and I’m sad to say I sat there watching it. I kept thinking it would finish but it just never did! Oh and I never did find the remote control hahaha

  2. I get frustrated when I go to a manufacturer’s website for information but the ads are so overwhelming that my computer locks up. That’s not good for anyone including the manufacturer. Facebook is the worst!

  3. We must be on the same wavelength. Ad’s prompted me to write today’s blog post too! 😁
