Friday Double Up

I screwed up my diary this month and thought we had dentist appointments on Monday 13th, Hubby’s blood test on Thursday 16th and a doctor/nurse appointment for me on Friday 17th.
Last week I had a phone call from the doctor’s surgery (I thought) delaying my appointment to 9.30.
Funny that, I had it written down for 9.50.

So last Friday we went into the surgery to check and I had made a big boo-boo.
No appointments Monday, Hubby did indeed have a blood test today, but our dentist appointments are tomorrow at 9.30 and 9.45, and my nurse appointment at 9.50.

It will thus be cutting it fine, so I am seeing the dentist first then legging it downstairs to sign in for the nurse as they are all in the same building. This is the appointment to discuss the results of my blood test a little while ago. My guess is cholesterol and the Lincolnshire NHS obsession with putting me on statins.
The funny thing is they contacted Hubby a fortnight after me to discuss the results of his blood test. Like myself, Hubby had said if it was about his cholesterol and statins they were wasting their time as he didn’t want them. The doctor was supposed to call him on Tuesday ‘for a chat’ but he never got the call. Hubby followed it up today and was told it has been registered on his notes as a ‘Failed Contact’. They obviously didn’t try very hard, and another call has been scheduled for next Friday 24th at a question mark time.

My argument is why couldn’t they do that for me? I had practically made myself blue in the face before to get them to understand I DON’T WANT THEM and it would save everyone a lot of time.
Hope upstairs is not running late.

Oh, and the nice lady I spoke to in the prescription office has sorted out my meds and I have collected some today as it was filled on the 27th of October with my next prescription being issued next week! Hurrah. Something works here!

We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. Wow! I got dizzy only reading it! How can you catch up with so many appointments? You need a secretary to organize them for you. 🙂
