Well, we have the other 7 so it made sense to buy Fast and Furious 8 for Hubby’s birthday.
I like Vin Diesel. He’s not exactly what I’d call handsome or oozes sex appeal for me, but there is ‘something’ that attracts me to any film he’s in.
This time around, Dom goes rogue, ditching his family and joining leagues with the bad guys, or in this case Girl, played by an excellent bitch in Charlize Theron.
It is up to his Team to hunt him down.
This is a good caper, with the old crew (except Paul Walker of course, though there is a mention of Brian and Mia) and a few familiar faces from previous outings providing ‘pissing contests’ for light relief between two hothead tough guys. The fight scene in the jailbreak is brilliant.
Great locations where we shift from the theft of EMP weaponry to the launch codes for nuclear warheads and hijacking a submarine, computer hacking wizardry which is all way over my head, fantastic car races (it’ll make you think twice about having a driverless car), plenty of action, humour and loads of things being blown up all over the place.
I thoroughly enjoy these movies (they’re absurd, but fun!). We still haven’t seen the latest one, though.
They are indeed very OTT, but extremely entertaining.
