Scrabbling for words

MOH and I played two games of scrabble last night, and surprisingly I won both.
It’s very difficult trying to get good scores when your tiles are either all vowels or all consonants, or worse, there is nothing to lay against to maximise your points.
Whilst MOH was collecting all the Is in the set, I was having a battle with the Es.

I haven’t read a decent book for months. We don’t have a newspaper though have been listening to the radio. The £15 spent on the mini hi-fi seems to have been well spent, and we have even listened to some CDs these past couple of evenings, having fished out our Pure Moods for Maggie to relax her as there have been fireworks going off.

Apart from my E feast, I was also getting the higher scoring tiles, Q, Z, X and J, though not all in the same hand, and I was able to put them down where they counted the most.
MOH was not having similar luck and there was no sign of any 7 letter words forthcoming.
However, our joint scores were well into the 500s, so I was quite pleased.
Hubby joined in for our third game, and still MOH was getting the evil Is.
Such a contrast to the previous night when he wiped the floor with both of us.
Luck of the draw I guess.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
