Perhaps not quite, but now that I have no more excuses to get in the way and we are more or less settled in our new home, I can begin again with the food analysis.
DIET is such a horrible word.
In trying to encourage pleasure rather than denial and frustration, I conjured up an array of lettuce mountains and cucumber suns, tomato and radish flowers on celery stalks, with beetroot carriages ready to lead me away to pastures of fruit yogurt under banana moons and raspberry stars.
Or maybe a Rock ‘n’ Roll Band about to take the kitchen by storm. Who knows?
I got the SW bible and my progress book out this morning.
My last weigh in was August 1st, and I tipped the scales at 13st 3lbs.
My ‘friendly’ home scales weighed me at 13st 3¼lbs, so in 10 weeks such a slight gain deserves a bar of chocolate a pat on the back.
We invited the neighbours in last week having finally got cups and seating organised without falling over boxes. They are probably a little older than us, and she gets about on a mobility scooter.
The subject of weight loss came up (not by me I might add) and I asked which slimming club she intended to join. Both SW and WW are local here.
Her choice is SW, so of course I said I was a former member. She seemed surprised I had stuck with it and lost so much weight in such a short time. Her weakness she said is sweet stuff and lack of will power.
Well I can certainly relate to that, but we all have to start somewhere to make progress.
Now you could say I could have offered to join with her and we’d go together.
But something held me back.
Afterall, we haven’t been here very long, and neither Hubby or I are the kind of people who like to be in each others pockets or houses. We’re chatty and friendly, but keep ourselves to ourselves, and basically prefer to be left alone.
Besides, I would have to join again and not wanting to lose that much more, I’ve decided to ‘go it alone’ first.
So, the camera has new batteries in it, and I shall be taking snap shots of my meals again to jolly me along. My food diary is marked and ready for entries, my cupboards stocked with all things edible and permitted.
Intended meal for tonight?
A homemade two-day chilli, so that’s today and tomorrow sorted!
Have I set a target?
Sort of.
I want to get that three stone certificate, even if it is by proxy now, and hope to achieve and maintain it by Christmas.
It’s doable.
Will be watching for your food pics. Good luck.
Thanks.
