‘Look Mummy! A horse in the sky!’
‘Don’t be ridiculous Ellie. You mean in the field.’
‘No Mummy! It’s a merry-go-round horse hanging in the sky all by itself. It’s beautiful. Do you think I could ride it?’
‘Ellie. Darling. Horses are not in the sky, but if we find a fair whilst we’re away and it has a merry-go-round, of course you can have a ride. But for now, please be quiet. Mummy’s concentrating on the road and doesn’t have time for your chatter.’
Ellie slumped in her child seat, dipping her head to see the wonderful horse prancing in the clouds. It was poised with its head held high, but all too soon the sun appeared to cut it in half until all that was left was a dark cloud.
A bit like Mummy’s mood really.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
I didn’t see the horse initially, but now I do. Nice linking the dark cloud and the mother’s mood.
Hubby and I love to cloud watch, and a prancing horse was the first thing that leapt out at me in this week’s prompt.
You can’t miss it, can you? 🙂
I’ve always cloud-watched… you see so many beautiful lands in the clouds…
Amazing. A world of wonder, and gone is such a short time.
I know… I never tire of watching.
Hope Mommy’s mood improved so that she can see the horse in the sky next time!
Shapes impact our thought process so deeply …. a lesson for marketeers.
I never really thought about it, but you’re right. Maybe if toberlone was flat instead of triangular, it wouldn’t be so appealing on the eye (three sides of pleasure instead of just two!)

An enchanting melding of the wonderment of a child, and their rather down to earth way of judging us adults.
🙂
I can see the horse!
Yay! It would appear that several other participants did too.
It does look like a horse! Mommy needs to relax and watch the clouds. 🙂
