Tale Weaver #134 – 24th August – Shopping

What a totally fabulous image to match my current mood!

I am Queen of the Spreadsheets, and for many years have been keeping one for our household shopping.
I was doing pretty well, keeping to our budget of around £25 a week for the 2½ of us as I could bulk buy, freeze, and we had our veg patch and wonderful apple tree.
Cue move to the boat, and having none of the above, it took a while to adjust, and we evened out at about £35 a week. Of course that took into account rising prices.

Then in June 2016 I joined Slimming World. My fresh fruit and veg sheet rocketed in the first month to double that of the total of the preceding three.
The key to SW success is to have a third of your plate at meal times consisting of ‘Speed Food’ which is fresh/frozen veg or fruit.
I have fluctuated by one or two pounds either side of my weight at Christmas 2016.
Despite my efforts and almost turning green with the amount of fresh veg and fruit I have been eating, that final target is eluding me. With current events and househunting, my heart has not been in it, and although I haven’t lost any weight, overall I haven’t gained any either.
My last meeting a month ago was not very supportive, so I have asked for my membership to be suspended until I can get myself (and my mind) sorted out.
So instead of raising a green bouquet in success, I am grabbing it by the throat and throttling the damn stuff!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I do understand Di, dieting can be so frustrating especially when people look at you as if its the easiest thing in world to do…..my kidney dr is constantly telling me to lose weight, so much easier said than done I think.
