This week’s photo prompt is provided by Yarnspinnerr

Everything was arranged in a specific order, though no-one actually had any idea what to expect.
It all looked pretty weird, a collection of containers, a plastic bottle filled with pebbles,  a few stone slabs and some innocent looking utensils that seemed unrelated to everything else.
Behind the railings, a floodlight stood to attention, ready to spotlight the evening’s entertainment.

The slabs were carefully laid flat to form a low stage and the vocalist took her place.
The containers metamorphosised into drums, the utensils drumsticks. The bottle became a shaker, and the railings a kind of inverted xylophone struck by 2 small metal tubes.
It was one of the best impromptu concerts in the town’s history.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That would be an interesting concert, indeed.

    • I remember one Christmas when we made a joyful noise with piano. mouth organ, recorders, cello, and my brother on the biscuit tin with a pair of knitting needles. We were playing Silent Night. It was terrific!

  2. LOL! What a fun concert to go to! Every day items made into musical instruments! Great story!

Very cool idea to make it into a concert Nice one

  4. What fun that must have been! So much more entertaining than someone standing in the street tunelessly strumming a guitar.

    • We saw a guy strumming a tuneless guitar on a street corner and quite honestly thought people were paying him to stop as it was the same chord all the time.

Wow love this take, a hidden music show. I very much wonder what it would sound like 🙂
