His life was as dull, empty and unexciting as the partition in front of him.
He looked at the floor to his right and the yellow marker that sported the words
‘DO NOT STAND FORWARD OF THIS LINE’.
Fat chance.
He’d ridden this bus every day for the last year and never had more than two other passengers for company.
Today he was the only one.
‘Hey! How ya doin’ back there?’ the driver called.
‘OK I guess,’ he replied.
‘Wanna drive?’
‘What?’
‘I asked if you’d like to drive.’
‘What? I mean, aren’t you on duty or something?’
‘Nah, I’ve finished for the day. So, you wanna drive?’
The driver talked him through the controls, the gears, the foot pedals, how to apply the brake. Soon he was driving the bus, totally confident behind the wheel, enjoying the view up front through the windshield.
He woke up from his daydream at his regular stop and alighted.
‘See you tomorrow, Gus.’
‘Sure thing Nick.’
164 words.
What a dream. Well done.
wow what a dream and he was in full control of his drive in his dreams.

Well done! Finally, a different type of bus ride for him. I’m sure he enjoyed it more than all the other rides. 🙂
