Hubby and I have spent the majority of the day (bar walking the dog and preparing meals) checking out the internet for more properties.
We have discovered that the ones we had eliminated are surprisingly still available, as is the one we discovered had a lease on it, and also the Gut Job where the vendor is holding out for the full asking price on a property that needs £20-£30K of work to make it liveable.
We have had contact from one of the newer estate agents trying to get us to view a semi-detached bungalow and a 4 bedroom detached house with no garden or parking.
They’re not listening!
I have had a response about the last property we saw on Tuesday to advise that the vendor accepted an offer from the people who came to view after us. Shame, as we were tempted, but it was too big for us really and I would never fill all those kitchen cupboards.
So, next week we are sort of taking time out and going away for a few days.
Our intention is to cover a large area where we know prices are cheaper, but there is no way we can do the journey in one day. By being away, we will also have the option of evening viewings, so should be able to see a lot of properties (all of which will of course be documented here in my blog).
We have booked a room in a B&B at a truly reasonable cost and nothing extra for the dog. Some places charge almost as much as a single occupant for a mutt!
We’ve stayed there before, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and they do a totally brilliant breakfast.
If we find nothing there, once back home we will need to regroup and weigh up other options.
I am always surprised at how much places charge to have a dog in the room! We do regularly pay it, though, as boarding Choppy is often even more expensive. Having a dog definitely comes with some expenses!
We are lucky with this B&B as it is dog friendly, and if Maggie plays her cards right, she may even get a scrambled egg for breakfast like last time!
Lucky dog!
She was ruinied at this one and another where they gave her a sausage too!
Choppy wishes this happened for her! Of course, when she comes to work, almost all our regular visitors bring her treats, which she enjoys. It’s not the same as getting eggs or a sausage, though!
Maybe she should trade pawtographs for food?
Glad you said you’ll be documenting!
Of course! What else could I write about these days??????????? haha. 🙂 🙂
