They reminded her of ants.
Hundreds of them, scurrying around, each with a specific job to do, never getting in each other’s way or fighting over the same space.
If one stumbled or fell, another took its place.
If one was struggling with its load, another came to assist.
No words were spoken, being totally unnecessary as they had perfected their life to an art.
How ironic they were all encased in this gallery, a glass dome under which they were being studied.
They didn’t know it of course.
It was all part of an experiment in human behaviour.
