I’m melting!
It’s hot again today, and Hubby’s got the thermometer out of the fridge to see just how hot it is indoors. It’s gone off the scale.
I dread to think how hot it is inside the boat. Last year we had temperatures well in the mid thirties. Baked beans and saucepans came to mind!
We have all the doors and windows open here and it’s scorching hot inside.
We are both sitting in the kitchen with the front blind drawn. At least it’s cooler here than the conservatory. I sat down to do some more of the puzzle and it was just too hot.
In fact, it’s too hot to do anything.
Maggie got an outside shower this morning. Being black and white, she is feeling the heat too, bless her.

At least we didn’t need to use the hairdryer.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too.
On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
I feel for you. It is in the cool side and it should be hotter
So odd to read of heatwaves in the UK! Here we have quite chilly weather – for us – but still brightly sunny. 🙂
A glass of ice cold wine should help you! 😀
Ah, the sins, the sins! I do keep a bottle of water in the fridge though which is euqally as enjoyable for me!
You will laugh – but right now I have many many layers on! Cold front coming up from the Antarctic. I don’t mind at all – if it brings rain! 🙂
btw how many syns Are in one glass of white wine? I’m just interested to know.
Oh, oh oh! Not being a drinker (though I do like the very occasional lager, half pint 6 syns, or Baileys 25ml 4 syns) I’ve looked it up for you, and the list is misleading due to the quantity , But:
250ml medium alcohol white wine 10 – 12and a half % vol is 10 syns
125 ml light wine 8 – 10% vol 4 and a half so 9 for the same quantity above,
250ml hig vol 13% or above attracts 11 and a half syns.
My ‘synnage’ is 15 a day but sometimes I do go over that. Ice cream is the killer just now at 9 and a half each.
Thank you for the info. I rarely drink wine (even tho I enjoy it) as there’s only me and it goes off before I’m half way thro a bottle – but it is a Lot of syns!
I’m sure Vodka is totally syn free! 😉
That’s the trouble – a little of what you fancy does you good, but it also contains tons of syns! 😀
25ml of vodka is 3 syns, 35ml 4, as is gin. It’s been a while since I had a glass of wine, but I tend to go for a sparkler like asti, 125ml has 4 and a half syns, or lambrusco which is slightly less at 4 for the same amount.
Over here, you can buy small bottles for around £2 which gives you about one and a half glasses. OK, a big bottle is only a few pence more, but at least you could have your treat and not have to throw the rest away. I wonder if you could freeze it as an ice lolly?????
haha I like the idea of a wine ice lolly! 😀
Works for me!
🙂
I’m used to AC – and ours is currently out of service until they get the new one in on Wednesday and can come install it. Thankfully, we were out of town this weekend and got to enjoy some working AC, courtesy of the hotel where we were staying.
We don’t have it here in houses as a rule. In the cottage, we had ceiling fans, something which will be copied when we find our new house.
And over here, everywhere seems to think we need to have the AC running at full blast all the time!
Choppy generally seems wary of ceiling fans. She’s not really afraid of them, she just always gives them a long look before getting near them.
