Sorry for repetitive posts, but I’ll keep this one short.
I mentioned in Grub Up that Hubby was intending to eat the same foods as me this week to see if he lost any weight.
As of today, he’s going back to normal eating for several reasons:
1. He’s nearly always hungry.
2. He’s not a fan of fruit (unless in a meringue nest or two covered in quark)
3. He’s food bored.
4. He enjoys veg, but doesn’t want to turn into one.
5. He misses chocolate.
6. He’s put on four pounds.
What can I say?
Ok, he’s had the odd biscuit packet or two, toast or sandwiches, extra cereal to his B allowance, and I have been giving him a slightly larger portion of the main meal having the extra veg myself, but at the end of the day, the dish is made from scratch with healthy ingredients.
Whilst SW does not count calories, it is important to weigh or measure your A and B options as well as your syns. Hubby’s weight is pretty stable, and this week has been more of an experiment to see if it’s what I’m eating that has caused ME to put on weight over the past two weeks.
Keeping a dual style food diary has been interesting too, so as from Wednesday, I shall not only be keeping a record of the meals I have, but listing everything in groups of Speed Food, Free Food and syns because maybe that’s where I’ve been going wrong. Although I’ve been eating a lot of fruit, bananas, blueberries, mangoes, pineapples and grapes although Free, are not Speed food.
The jury’s still out for me until tomorrow evening but I’m not counting my chickens.
OMG. I’d laugh about Hubby, but it’s so annoying.
Fruit can be fattening, too. Darn. Once I lost a bunch of weight by only eating green salads…salads, salads, salads. After a few weeks I was so sick of salads – and that’s all I would allow myself to eat – that I lost appetite completely. Easier to do that when much younger and very busy with other things as distraction, though
Hang in there
Indeed I am. The salad thing I’m familiar with, though for me I retained the water and the weight went on. I’ve made mistakes in the past of skipping meals too so it’s all very much a balancing act.
