Saturday Mix–10 June 2017: What If

Thanks Teresa.
I often ask myself this question and glad I’m here where I am rather than somewhere else because of it!
What if she’d stayed?
Would it have made
Any difference to
The outcome with you?

Did you treat her right?
Drunk every night,
She cleaned up your mess,
Giving more than her best.

Love made her fall,
She gave you her all,
Provided a home,
Yet you left her alone.

She wasted ten years,
Cried oceans of tears,
You weren’t there to see
How she yearned to be free.

Her love made her ill,
Such a bitter pill,
But you didn’t care,
She was just ‘there’.

Everyone knew,
That was, except you,
She left when she could
Rather than when she should.

But what if she’d stayed?
You’d still have strayed,
Cheated and lied,
She’d most likely have died.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

  2. Teresa says:

Very well done. Sadly, this is all too realistic.
