The Blue Boob update.

Yep, I still have it, though not quite so bright a hue now. You may remember Hubby’s portrait of me.
The good news is that all is well in that department and I am doing all the right things, especially continuing to lube the boob with the non-petroleum moisturising cream every morning.

My consultant was as lovely and attentive as ever, nothing was hurried (even if she was running almost two hours late) and she did an ultrasound to update my notes in readiness for comparison in September when I shall be called in for my mammogram.

Everything has healed well, inside and out, and the twinges, heaviness and occasional discomfort are all normal as the radiotherapy is still doing its stuff even though my last session was at the end of January. Apparently I can expect this for at least another year.
She said my analogy of comparing it to the texture of an over cooked chicken breast summed it up nicely, as I have been microwaved afterall!

Seriously though, it was good to get my concerns addressed and be reassured as I had never had any surgery before and so didn’t know what to expect. Better safe than sorry.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
