The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS May 27/17

Linda’s prompt this week is ‘Smell’.
https://lindaghill.com/

Maggie’s sense of smell is amazing.
I could fill this post with numbers and statistics that would leave you in awe, but that’s already been done by bloggers and experts far better than I, and besides is outside ‘the rules’ of this challenge if I had to look anything up.

On numerous occasions whilst out walking, Maggie has gone into overdrive, pacing the hedgerows back and forth, not giving up, nose to the ground, periodically sniffing the air only to put her nose back in the undergrowth.
Her tail is a whirlwind of rotation and activity as her excitement increases.
She senses.
She smells.
She knows.
She flushes them out.
A frantic flutter of panicked wings reveals her quarry, ptarmegon, partridge or pheasant, the Three Ps of the countryside, either for sport or dinner.

She sits, no need to chase, smug and satisfied.
Point made, job done.

Retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination, loves to cook, favourite food everything especially chocolate and jelly babies. Best friends are Hubby and Dog, Bro, MSM and our Dominoes Friend aka MOH (and his dog). Also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours but times change and we are once again house hunting.

  1. Is there anyway you can send me the exact link to ping back. What I put in is not working.

    • The link in my post takes you to Linda’s blog and the SoCS is her top entry. If you click on the ‘comments’ (currently 35) on the left hand side under today’s date, it will take you to her list of comments where you can leave your link for your contribution. Glad you’ve joined in.
