House Sitting again

It has been a changeable and productive day, with us doing the washing, cleaning through the house, a bit of shopping, and Hubby has been busy with the needle and thread.
MSM is looking after Maggie for us for the duration of our trip up on the canals, and so we have removed and cleaned our seat covers to protect her car should she wish to take her ladyship out for a ride.
In so doing, we noticed some minor repair work was required, so Hubby set to whilst I got lunch. You may remember this post.

For the majority of the afternoon I have been doing a jigsaw puzzle.
It’s an absolute swine with weird shaped pieces and cartoon graphic characters, but I am already over halfway to completing it.
I’ve always found them very therapeutic and relaxing, so should sleep well tonight!
The marina is quiet as the workmen have finished for the Easter Break, still nowhere near finished. Several boaters have come down for the weekend so I hope their boats are in the water already and not still on blocks on the other side.

The weather has turned and we have had heavy rain for the past three hours.
Thankfully, it stopped just after 9pm so we were able to walk Maggie round the Avenue where she has performed all businesses, so we should have an uninterrupted night.
She is definitely more settled, though she did get us up at 4.30 this morning. We have a theory it was because we didn’t come straight to bed after her final walk last night, so that has been rectified today and she is curled up at the bottom of the bed fast asleep.

I have the additional luxury of being able to blog in bed. This is a first since selling the cottage as the signal on the boat was iffy at best! We’ll have no internet on our canal trip of course, so shall be off the air for a couple of weeks. I plan to keep a diary and post details and photos of our trip when we get back.

MSM should be back from visiting her friends either tomorrow or Sunday. I am looking forward to cooking chicken dinner for us with all the trimmings.
Happy Easter everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
