Playing Catch Up

We have had a day of mainly socializing which has made a pleasant change from varnishing, packing, vacuum sealing and storage runs.
Some friends who moved away last week were here to collect their post and we spent a nice couple of hours over cups of tea, cookies and jaffa cakes.
They are settling in to their new moorings OK and it was lovely to see them.

Later, we joined N and her husband for coffee, but our venue had to be changed at the last minute as they had ceased to allow dogs in the pub/hotel gardens and there was no way we could leave Maggie in the car. It has been a glorious day, so we moved elsewhere and had a pleasant (if small) cup of coffee and shared 2 desserts between us as they didn’t do cakes as such. It was still a nice afternoon spent in good company.

This evening has been spent playing scrabble with MSM, and our first game gave us a total of 635 points, one of our best. It helped that I had a variety of letters rather than all vowels, and this week was able to put down 2 seven letter words, even if one only gave me 59 points because all letters therein were one in value. MSM and I then played together whilst Hubby, bless him, dozed in the chair with his feet up. He had varnished the bedroom wall again this morning having noticed a bad spot, so had to strip it back and redo it. It was a close game, MSM winning by just 4 points.

Getting on to the internet tonight has been a bit of a game, everything is slow, and my reader and comments etc took ages to load. Welcome to all new followers as once again I am having difficulty in accessing sites due to a poor signal here.

Hubby had to go fishing this afternoon having dropped his glasses in the drink.
Sadly neither his magnet nor the marina’s fishing net retrieved them, so another fish is seeing the underwater world with new eyes.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
