Excellent Day!

You know sometimes you have a really crappy day which makes you frustrated, angry and despondent?
Well today was NOTHING like that at all and we’re feeling quite perky and positive!
We were awake pretty early, so got up to discover it was just before 7am.
We’d sorted out some stuff to go into storage today last night, and thought why not drop it off before collecting Maggie for 9am.

Traffic going into town was a little heavy by the time we’d loaded up the car, but we were at the lock up before 8.30 and as our entry fob had now been activated from today, access was a doddle.
In fact, it was so straight forward, we were out by 20 to 9!
We were surprised to see one of our boating friends who had sold up last year and were renting a cottage in town. We asked how he was but he didn’t seem very chatty, if anything perhaps a little embarrassed to see us.
We left to collect the dog and hope things are working out OK for them.

Maggie was of course pleased to see us, and as soon as we were back at the boat, curled up on her bench and entered the land of Doggy Nod. She was no trouble overnight, and certainly no trouble during the day.

This afternoon, we sorted out some more stuff, getting it ready for deposit tomorrow morning, but as we had done so well and Hubby wasn’t in too much pain thanks to one of his painkillers actually working, we decided to take that lot down to the lock up today.
Maggie was quite content in the back even if she was surrounded by boxes, and again it was an easy drop.

We have kept back 2 plates, 3 bowls, our camping cutlery, 5 mugs, one saucepan, one frying pan and the rule of threes for clothes apart from underwear.
All the washing has been done, excess clothes vacuum packed where necessary, and all baggy pants, holey socks and tatty tee shirts binned.
In our 128 cubic feet of storage space we have a fair amount left, so our choice of unit was perfect for the small amount of possession we now own.

Now we are well ahead of our schedule and can take things nice and steady without any need for a last minute panicked rush.
Maggie is tucked up with MSM for the night, and we are just chilling out catching up on our blogs and emails.

It’s been a damn good day.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and have a terrible sweet tooth. Best friends are Hubby, our dog Maggie, Bro in NZ, MSM and MOH (and his dog). I am also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we were once again house hunting until September. We now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.

  2. You deserved a good day after all that’s been going on!

    • It was nice, and we are meeting up with N and her husband this afternoon for coffee which will be lovely too. Work this morning, nothing to put into store, so a relatively ‘easy’ day.
