#SoCS Mar. 4/17 “Project”

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “project.” Use it as a verb, a noun, or both. Have fun!
socsThanks Linda.

This could not be more appropriate as next week, cooker sale permitting, we should be starting on the kitchen here in the boat.
We’ve been aboard over two and a half years, and apart from our little revamp after that first winter where we took out a bench and put in a new radiator, we’ve been ticking over and making notes about what we like, what we don’t and what annoys us about our home.

The kitchen is the first in a mini series of projects this year, where the fridge (after a rewiring job) will be moved to the position of said cooker, the molded sink will be replaced by a stainless steel sink and double burner with individual drop down lids and foldaway tap, and I shall become the proud owner of a new microwave oven cum cooker as mine is on its way out plus it gives me another cooking option.
As I said, we have been aboard a while, and I have never used the grill or the oven on my cooker, which are both being used as storage for breakfast cereal and this year’s Christmas pudding (unless we eat it first to save space 😉 ).

After the kitchen, it is a revamp of the revamped ‘lounge’, new blinds to get rid of the curtains which have become a pain, and some pretty nifty stained glass windows on the bow doors! Then we have to start on the bed frame.
There is always a project in the offing. Well, it gives us something to do I suppose!
Watch this space.

Best friends are Hubby and Dog, Bro and our Dominoes Friend aka MOH (and his dog). Also a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' is now a 41 foot narrow boat. It's different and having swan and duck families for neighbours is much more relaxing on the eye not to mention the ears!

  1. That’s exciting. I can’t imagine living on a boat full-time. Funny how there is always room for improvement no matter where we live.
